Henry County is located in the beautiful Southern Drift Plain of southeast Iowa.
The Skunk River traverses Henry County creating two very distinct topographies.
Rich agricultural land is found in the northern region of the county, while
rolling timbered hills dominate the southern region. Henry County is nationally
renowned for its White-tailed Deer and Wild Turkey populations, not to mention
its diverse prairies and wildflowers.
Come visit us in pristine southern Iowa!
 Henry
County Conservation Department's Mission:
The goal of the Henry County Conservation Board is the establishment of a
quality park, recreation, conservation, and environmental education system which
gives the most service to the residents of Henry County and the State of Iowa,
and to ensure that in coming years, all visitors may have ample opportunity to
enjoy the scenic beauty and recreational potential of the area. To reach these
objectives, we energetically promote programs and interest in conservation of
our natural resources. |
