Riverview Disc Golf Course

The North Shore of Oakland Mills Park, four miles south of Mt. Pleasant is the
home of the nine-hole Riverview Disc Golf Course. Spenser Burden, as an Eagle
Scout, worked with the Conservation staff to help construct the disc golf
course.

This course is on rolling hills and the manicured fairways are lined with native
grasses. Some fairways are lined with newly planted pine trees that make a
beautiful course that sits along the Skunk River. According to course designer
and avid disc golfer, Bill Dowell, the disc golf course at Oakland Mills is the
100th PDGA registered course in the state of Iowa.
This course is free for all to play. All you need is a disc, which you may
purchase at local retailers.
The course is open year-round, so plan a picnic and stay the day!
The Riverview Disc Golf Course now features an enclosed shelter house, which can
be reserved. A $25.00 reservation fee does apply. For reservations, contact the
Henry County Conservation Department's Office, (319) 986-5067. |
