Water Works Park
|
Situated along the Skunk River, Water Works Park is a quaint 16 acre
multi-use area. 20 newly installed semi-modern camp sites, along with 10
primitive sites make this park a camper's paradise.
CAMPING CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. WILL RESUME MID-APRIL,
2012. A rest room, picnic
shelter, water and cooking grills are just some of the amenities found here.
The picnic shelter may be reserved. Please contact the Conservation
Department's Office at (319) 986-5067.
On March 15, 2003, the Ross Observation Tower was opened to the public. The
tower was dedicated in the memory of Terry Ross and Michael Klopfenstein.
The all-steel tower rises up about 30 feet from the ground with the
observation floor 22 feet up. Visitors get a bird's-eye view of the 87 acre
wetland. Viewing binoculars and seating are also found on the observation
deck.
